What a 'wash trade' looks like on-chain

Wash trading — buying and selling the same asset to fake volume — leaves a distinct on-chain signature: near-identical amounts cycling between a small set of related addresses with little net position change. Volume alone is a weak signal; volume concentrated among a handful of clustered wallets is a much stronger tell.
