Tornado Tracer

Search an Ethereum address that deposited into Tornado Cash, and this tool scans the same pool's activity around that time to surface withdrawal addresses whose timing lines up closely enough to be a candidate match. These are statistical links from public on-chain data, not proof of common ownership. Read the notes below before relying on anything here.

Deposit dates
Withdrawal dates
All times are in UTC. Leave a box empty if you don't want a limit on that side. With no dates set, each deposit is compared with every withdrawal from its pool made after it.
Ethereum mainnet only. Tornado has no time limit on withdrawals, so a wider date range finds more matches but also more noise.
How this works and where it falls short

Tornado deposits are ordinary transactions, so the address that made the deposit is public. Withdrawals mostly go through a relayer, which means the address that paid the gas is not the one that received the money. The recipient is still public, because it sits inside the withdrawal itself. For every deposit the address made, the tool pulls every withdrawal from the same pool between the dates you picked, reads the receiving address off each one, and sorts them by how soon after the deposit they happened.

Timing matters because Tornado puts no limit on how long money can stay in a pool. A deposit can be withdrawn a minute later or five years later. Most people do not wait long, so a withdrawal that lands soon after the deposit, with few others around it, is a better lead than one that lands weeks later with dozens in between. That is why the page shows the gap and the number of other withdrawals in that period, and does not give a score.

  • It only works from the deposit side. If you search an address that withdrew from Tornado, the page will tell you so, but it can't trace backwards to the deposit.
  • A short gap is a hint. Investigators also look at deposit amounts split across pools, gas settings, and addresses that later move money together. None of that is checked here.
  • Only the Ethereum mainnet pools are covered (ETH, DAI, cDAI, USDC, USDT, WBTC). Tornado's pools on other chains are not.
  • Tornado Cash came off the OFAC sanctions list in 2025, after a US appeals court ruled that its smart contracts could not be sanctioned as property. Looking at it is not illegal on its own, but your own obligations depend on where you are and on your company's policy.
